Advent Day 3…. The Kite Runner

1970s Afghanistan: Twelve-year-old Amir is desperate to win the local kite-fighting tournament and his loyal friend Hassan promises to help him. But neither of the boys can foresee what would happen to Hassan that afternoon, an event that is to shatter their lives. After the Russians invade and the family is forced to flee to America, Amir realises that one day he must return to an Afghanistan under Taliban rule to find the one thing that his new world cannot grant him: redemption.

I looooved this book so much, I have a number of the authors books now on my to be read list, however I thing I was late to this party! It’s definitely one to add to your list if you haven’t read it, even if its not your normal cup of tea!

The yarn was inspired by the cover with all of the gorgeous soft tones of blue and blue green of the sky and splashes of browns and khaki with hints of other rainbow colours mixed in. These colours were pulled from the boy on the covers top and add so much interest to the yarn. A firm favourite of mine in this advent.

Scroll all the way down for the day 3’s pattern spoiler and an example of how the yarn works up!

I’m so excited to share tomorrow’s book and yarn to add to our shelf! It’s honestly the most stunning yarn I’ve ever dyed… see you then!
