Advent Day 24…. Underworld

The underworld, and our last stop in the Phantasmaland tour! The dark and eerie realm is home to so many mysterious and morally grey beings. A haven for those shunned from the ver realms…

Deep greens, greys, and mixed browns make this the rich colourway on our final 50g. This grungy colourway perfectly finishes this triangle for the dark realm in Phantasmaland.

Today has been an amazing family day for us, Christmas Eve is always fully focused on family, and we have little to no screen time. We have decorated a gingerbread house, made cinnamon buns, played board games, made Lego and puzzles, and had our annual living room floor picnic. The kids have bounced up to bed, but I doubt they’ll be asleep anytime soon!

5hank you all so much for joining me on this amazing trip through the fantasy realm. We only have one day left to open, and I will blog about it on boxing day!

Until then! MERRY CHRISTMAS, I hope you have a wonderful day, whether you celebrate it or not!

Advent Day 23…. Cerberus

Cerberus is the final magical (and frightening) mythical creature that we are meeting today. A three-headed hound and key protector of the underworld. And to be honest, scary beyond all reason!

The colourway is a gorgeous mix of greys with a pop of rich golden brown and splashes of sea green blue. It is also our final 20g skein in the advent as we are on our final 50g tomorrow!

Today, it was up at 5.50 to get to sainburysas it opened, and I am so glad I did. I then had a post shopping nap and chilled all day, wrapped the wider family’s gifts, and now I’m off out for a meal with lovely friends!

Scroll to see the gorgeous mini skeins balled up and the yarn made up into fabric.

I can’t get over that it’s the 24th tomorrow!! So excited! Xxxxx

Advent Day 22…. Arachne

Todays mini is inspired by the half woman and half spider, Arachne. Once a fae with incredible weaving skills, she was cursed due to her pride in living her remaining days as a half being. She hides in the underworld, weaving tales about those in Phantasmaland.

Of course, I had to take the warm tones in the inspiration image to create a mini rainbow to be as clurful as the tales she weaves. The deep greens run through to warm yellows and into burnt orange. A pale grey and light brown contrast the colourful end of this yarn.

Our penultimate 20g skein is a soft colourway that is a perfect lead on from day 21s bright greens. I can’t believe tomorrow is the last mini skein! And I do love tomorrow’s creature. I wonder if any of you will guess it before then?

The overall advent picture below is really filling up now. Scroll all the way down to see the yarn made into fabric and the skein wound up.

3 days left!! I hope you are all really startingto feel Christmassy and managing to have a bit of peace before it all gets a bit manic!

Advent Day 21…. Medusa

Medusa, the ruler of this realm, is lurking in another dark corner of the underworld. A woman fae scorned by past loves and a hater of all men folk. Similarly to yesterday’s beast, Medusa can turn those who catch her gaze into stone. She keeps them in her eerie garden of statues.

This colourway is a bright mix of stunning greens with one end showing pale skin tones and the other grungy greys. This is quite a different colour to ost of the advent so far, and yet it should tone in beautifully with its parnering yarns.

Today has been a wonderful day for us at home. It has seen me mostly catch up on my massive crochet gift demands, and we had a big tidy up of downstairs and finished decorating. The boys chipped in and swept, hoovered, and tidied up whilst Mike and I hung the lights, bunting and tinsel about the house. We are all feeing very festive and watched muppets Christmas carol whilst, you guessed it, I crocheted more gifts 😅.

Scroll all the way down for the day 21 pattern spoiler and a glimpse at how the yarn works up! You can really see the various greens of the yarn when it’s crocheted.

OK, OK, you’ve all guess that we are now in the underworld ream of Phantasmaland, and so today can you guess what creature we will meet tomorrow?!

Advent Day 20…. Basilisk

Day 20, and we have turned another corner in this dark realm and run into the Basilisk. Luckily, we saw his reflection in the pool and didn’t look him in the eye. A flash of grey and blue, and we swiftly turned to flee in the opposite direction… I wish we were back in the safety of the enchanted forest!

I loved dyeing this colourway so much! It’s is such a fun mix of blues and greens with grey and flashes of golden yellowy browns and plum blossom.

Today was Christmas admin day filled with wrapping gifts and buying the final bits before the kids finished school. Mike was off, so he was able to help today, which doubled our productivity despite a 3-hour brunch break with one of my sisters and brother in law (the one who self amputated his finger on Sunday… I wish I was being dramatic 😅).

Anyway!! I’m back to crocheting gifts this evening, and I have 3 left to make of my massive self-inflicted Christmas crochet! So better get off so I can keep going!

There have been a few guesses for the realm since yesterday, and you guys are definitely on the right track, I think tomorrow will confirm it, though!
