We are in a new realm, but i will leave you guessing for now, but in the dark corner, we see a glimpse of 5 and many headed creature. A flash of bue with shocking pink alerts us to run as fast as we can from the many jaws of the Hydra! We should flee from this monstrous beast as it truly means us harm!

This colourway is a beautiful mix of the blue greys of the misty and dark corner in which the Hydra is hiding and the flashed of bright blue, purple, and pink. A colourway that I’m a little bit in love with despite the scary creature that inspires it!

Day 19, I am so shocked at how fast Christmas is approaching. I have finally finished shopping, and the littles are now fully wrapped, just extended family, and the husband left to wrap tomorrow! Then I can focus on the food… we are getting there!

A new realm means a new triangle! The fabric this colourway makes is divine (scroll to the bottom of this post to see it).

Here, we have the Jinxed sea, home to all manner of creatures and beings, often with mixed morals. Are they good ? Are they evil, or are they both? The inhabitants are friendly enough when they want to be…

The inspiration comes mostly from the reef with its magical luminous coral. Rich pink, plum, and purple with vibrant blue and a hint of peach, baby pink, and ivory. It’s a yummy one!

I really have made progress on the mountain of wrapping and watched the final Christmas concert where my eldest played the cello with the year’s ensemble. It was lovely! But the Christmas festivities aren’t over as the kids have parties and Christmas movie nights this evening, to which we are the chauffeurs!

Back to the yarn, isn’t it gorgeous?! I may knit myself something in this one… I’ll be dyeing it up in the new year with the preorder, but when I get to it, who knows 😆

I can share the advent so far again (after photographing days 13-17 backwards (doh!). But isn’t it all so lovely together, blue os definitely dominant in this advent! But I love the pink and purple pops that happen periodically.

The final realm tomorrow!! And we are going down… deep down…

Today, we are heading into the treacherous deep and dark depths of the Jinxed sea as we come across the Kraken. This monstrous creature of the sea is a known enemy of the sailing folk, and it frequently sinks the ships of those who sail too close to its lair.

The colourway is inspired by the stunning image above. The rich plum and purples through bright sea blues and navy meet a splash of bright yellow. This colour is so seaworthy!

Today, back in reality, it was a Christmas filled day with a second Christmas show (of three) where I proudly watched my ASD son say his individual words to a 200+ audience. I may have she’d a little tear. Proud doesn’t even come close… I then spent the day wrapping gifts, listening to a Christmas audio book and then a bit of gift crochet.

Todays colourway is inspired by the sirens. Cousins of the merpeople, but morally grey. They lure sailors with their songs to the depths of the jinxed sea and often to their death. Often confused with merpeople, both are feared among Phantasmaland folk.

Deep purples and navy with ice blues and grey, a gorgeously rich colourway adds depth to this section of the advent.

Day 16! I honestly have no idea how we are moving so quickly through this month!

I’ve made progress on some gifts I’ve been making my family. I’ve been making a toft maine coon in black (whyyyyy) as a toy version of our Ali cat for my youngest. Only 8bprojects to finish….

Once I have finally finished those I’ll be able to focus on the blanket for the advent! Scroll down to see the nutcracker doll trio I’ve made the boys…

The Kelpie is a mystical equine being that lives in the depths of the Jinxed sea. It is shape-shifting and can appear on land as an old man. It is a long living xreature as they can only be fatally wounded with silver.

The deep blues of the sea with a flash of seldom green and grey, this colour is not one to be missed!

What a day it has been! We started the day with a bit of a stress when my brother in law managed to trap his finger in the front door (it’s quite bad to be fair, with the missing part going all the way to the bone… eek)

Funnily enough, there is a story about the kelpie in which it lures children to be drowned and eaten, and one child cuts off his finger to get away… what are the chances?! 😅

Sorry if it grossed anyone out, I know I’m in the minority who find that stuff interesting rather than grim 🫢

Anyway, day 16 tomorrow! And we will meet another water creature… until then…
